The City of Goodyear has a position available for Deputy Building Official!
The Deputy Building Official plans and directs the work of professional technical staff that review and evaluate residential and commercial building plans, applying building codes to determine compliance with code provisions. In this multi-faceted role, you will evaluate and participate in developing city policies and procedures, provide staff guidance and leadership, develop and share your technical knowledge and administrative skills with staff in the Development Services Building Safety Plan Review section. Performs intermittent plan review, but the primary focus is to assist the Chief Building Official in planning, organizing, and managing activities concerning compliance with building and safety ordinances within the City while modeling the organization’s core values and mission in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Serves as the lead role in customer outreach, support, communication, and problem resolution. Acts as Chief Building Official in his/her absence.
